The West Australian Ballet project consisted of the extensive refurbishment of a heritage listed community building – the former WA Royal Institute and Industrial School for the Blind.
The interior of the building was restored to resemble a New York style loft, complete with a state of the art aerodynamic spring floor system, three dance studios, a wardrobe and production department, administration offices and a café.
The restoration also included an internal office fit-out, restoration of heritage ceilings and floors, and the installation of new services.
The world class WA Ballet Centre is a donation dependent organisation and the first ballet company to be formed in Australia that is still in existence today. Probuild waived its costs attached to this prestigious project in the form of a donation to the ballet and broader arts community.
