Probuild have been contracted to transform the iconic Nylex industrial site into a unique cultural asset for Melbourne. This is the third project for our repeat Client, Caydon, for Stage 1 of the precinct works.
This includes residential, commercial and tourism development that will bring high-quality apartment living to this significant urban renewal site, as well as retail shops and cafes to service the new district.
On the residential side, The Malt District will feature 202 apartments with 16 storeys, including 2 storeys of basement car parking, ground floor retail and office and 14 storeys of residential totalling 30,000m2.
Commercially, The Malt District will feature 9 storeys totalling 9,000m2 with amenities such as retail, bike racks, 9 levels of office space and 2 additional levels of car parking.
The development includes retaining and restoring of historically significant heritage aspects of this site while creating a vibrant and viable mixed-use precinct that will make a positive impact on the area and create a 21st century landmark.
The Malt District is scheduled for completion in 2021.
