Australia's Best Quality Builder

From start to finish and beyond, we ensure the highest quality build by setting ambitious targets, making sure that every aspect of the project is built correctly and are free from defects.

Quality management starts at the outset of our projects and continues beyond handover.

We set ambitious quality targets to ensure that every aspect of the project is built correctly. Probuild operates a Quality Management System (QMS) that is certified to the AS/NZS 9001:2015 standard on all projects. The QMS sets out procedures and a framework for quality management and reporting across all our operations.

Our Quality Management Systems

Probuild operates a Quality Management System (QMS) that is certified to the AS/NZS 9001:2015 standard on all projects.

The system is subject to:

  • Constant project level review

  • Regular internal-management audits

  • Internal second-party audits

  • Senior management interactions at regular intervals

  • Twelve monthly external third-party surveillance audits

We analyse each project in detail to identify key quality related issues and risk areas and document this in a formal Project Quality Risk Assessment.
From there we formulate project-specific and targeted management plans accordingly.

On site, our highly-skilled site supervisors ensure compliance with industry-best practice in relation to our Quality Management System.  The site teams are required to complete a quarterly ‘look ahead’ to increase awareness of pending quality targets within the entire design and construction team.

Subcontractor Management

As our subcontractors fundamentally affect quality, we select them using criteria established at the tender stage of a project.

Nominated quality hold points are set at pre-established milestones called “Construction Gateways”. These gateways may align with a change in supervision and formal “Stage Supervisor Handover” process we call ProCheck. This ensures that all works are complete at these points, avoiding incomplete works or the ‘loss’ of any ongoing issues during handover.

We have a strict process in place to ensure subcontractor inspection and testing processes are reviewed by the project team. On site performance is monitored by the Site Supervisor responsible for the designated area of works, and relevant activities on site are recorded in the daily diary.

In support of the subcontractors Inspection and Testing Plans, all Probuild supervisors’ complete inspections in line with minimum frequency rates and pause at nominated hold points through the work sequence.

These include but are not limited to:

  • Concrete pre- and post-pour inspections

  • Precast inspections

  • Steel inspections

  • Lift shaft inspections

  • Water proofing (especially subterranean) inspections

  • Fire-rated penetration inspections

  • Shop drawing inspections

  • Factory inspections (on and off shore)

  • Pre-sheet wall and ceiling sign-off

  • Pre-screed sign-off

  • Pre-tile sign-off
