The University Of Melbourne Economics & Commerce Building

The $98 million Faculty of Economics and Commerce Building designed by Metier3 for the University of Melbourne involves the construction of a concrete structure with a highly specified complex façade.  The development includes two basements for a Lecture Theatre and Plant, an entry lobby, reception area on the Ground Floor, and twelve levels of student teaching facilities, seminar rooms and staff areas.
The services are highly specified and integrated, and finishes are of the highest quality.  Additionally, the project has been designed to achieve a 5 star Greenstar rating.  In our role as Design & Construct contractor we were involved in developing the design solutions that met the ESD requirements and also remained within the project budget.
This project was successfully completed on time and within budget in January 2009.
