Surry Hills Library and Community Centre
Designed by award winning architects Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp (FJMT), the Surry Hills Library and Community Centre sets new benchmarks for integrated sustainable design in public buildings. Located on Crown Street in the heart of Surry Hills, NSW, the centre is a four level building comprising a two level library, community centre (including; functions areas, teaching kitchen, meeting rooms, administration facilities and computer lab), childcare facility and outdoor play area, green roof and public domain works. Working closely with the client, architects and engineers, WBHO Probuild delivered a truly remarkable building incorporating the latest in innovative environmental systems with sustainable design philosophies throughout and creating a landmark architectural feature within the Surry Hills community.
