QEII Car Park

The QEIIMC Car Park Project consists of more than 3,000 car bays, a childcare facility and retail space. Works began on-site July 2011, with the new car park progressively opening from late 2012. Existing ground level car parks will be reconfigured to increase the efficiency and capacity of existing bays, providing about 4,800 across the reserve by mid-2014; Parking will increase to 5,100 car parking bays upon completion of the new children’s hospital in 2015.

The aesthetics of the car park were a major consideration given the prominent location on the north eastern corner of the site, opposite Kings Park. This design closely resembles an occupied building and will utilise coloured panels to connect with the surrounding bushland and changing lighting schemes to transition from dusk to nightfall.
