Retail & Entertainment
Broadmeadows Town Centre
The $20M plaza redevelopment of the Broadmeadows Town Centre for our long-standing client Colonial First State Property Management comprises 25 new tenancies, the incorporation of the previously freestanding Hoyts and two restaurants into the existing internal structure, as well as a large, landscaped plaza.
A glazed, box-like structure featuring a coloured matrix of clerestory glazing connects the mall extension to the cinema building, creating a dramatic environment for retail and entertainment. A large blade projects from the box and is accentuated by colourful graphics and lighting, providing a visual statement highlighting the entry. An outdoor dining precinct adjacent to the landscaped plaza was also included in the development. The fast-tracked Construction Management procurement model ensured that works were able to be completed on time and under budget in late 2006.
